I did read a thread someone had installed a ‘door switch’ in the lower left of the rear panel.
I noted mine has a blanking grommet is this the way yours is operated?

I used just 2 squares from one of
these
(says its sold out but you can find them almost anywhere) and hook it directly to my interior light. Would be nice to just come one when the rear door opens but it was an easy install this way. I might do it some other time.
Since you usually buy about 20 of the squares, you'll have plenty left over to place anywhere else. I've installed mine under the bonnet for a work (they are waterproof and aren't affect by the engine heat). Was going to use them as rock lights as well.
Best of all you can hook them directly to a power source as each individual square has its own resistor. All this light for $25 (could be cheaper if you shop around).
