If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Plug a £20 code reader into the diagnostic plug above the drivers left knee.
Read the fault code, and clear it.
If it comes back, do it again, but this time fix the indicated problem
Most likely oxygen sensor #1 the one before the catalyst.
As an alternative, disconnect the battery for 20 minutes, this should clear the codes. Do NOT do this if you don;t know the radio code, or how to reset the electric windows.
