Something clogged? was created by Ngaire
I have a 1999 Jimny, I have owned this car for about a year, it was a little slow when I purchased it, but now it seams to be getting worse. When the car is cold the engine doesn't get above 2000rpm when the throttle is all the way down for the first few seconds. After a little while the revs get higher as if something has come unblocked and the car will start to move faster. 50% of the time the car will lose all power if I have stopped to make a turn, it will only do a max of 20km/ph, this is obviously quiet scarey!
I have taken the car to three separate mechanics, I have changed the air and oil filters, ran compression tests, changed the caddy, disconnected and reconnected the battery used enjector cleaning fluid. Unfortunately there aren't any Suzuki specialists nearby, but if anyone has any ideas about what is wrong with my baby it would be greatly appreciated.
Also I often have trouble getting it out of 4wd mode and blue/grey smoke comes out of the exhaust when I start it.
Thanks again!

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I've actually changed the catalyst a while ago, another expensive procedure, and the thing is still really slow. Does anyone know about an auto choke or some kind of computer that needs resetting?
4wd is a small press in gear stick, it takes brute force to get it out of 4wd mode. I haven't been driving on the roads like this
