If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWell, it arrived, and it reads that I have no stored codes, and that the MIL is off, and all monitored sensors are ok.
It doesn't read any sensor data, so you can't check temperature or monitor the lambda sensors, it just reads the engine codes and resets them.
is the one I bought. It plugged into the Nissan Note as well and pronounced it ok.
It is an AUTEL maxiscan ms309 www.auteltech.com/ms309.htm
I do have the type that plugs into a laptop, but it is a bit of a faff sitting in the car with a laptop on your knees, although the laptop one can do a lot more.

Thanks for the up-date, for the money a handy bit of kit imo.
I have a couple bookmarked on dbay & think I will get one.
I did some running about yesterday without any issues then 'Gunked' the engine wnet for a run no problem.
Went out last evening up the light came again.
I am convinced it's related to strong solvents!
I'm off for a 150 mile round trip tomorrow so let's what happens.

An update on my ‘Fault Code’
I have managed to have a ‘real’ diagnostics check on the Jimny’ as the EML light has come on a couple of times over the last month or two.
Fault found Lambda ‘up-stream’ sensor, now replaced so fingers crossed all should be fine.
I did a little searching on line, re the sensor & was surprised to learn that they should be replaced, (recommended 30/40k) as they deteriorate much like Spark Plugs so reducing their efficiency.
Next job is to have a good look around underneath before the winter sets in any day soon .......

Yes that is the warning light however remember it could be anything.
Read what I tried re disconnecting the battery etc.
My Jimny is 2003, I had no other symptoms, the car ran well. Hth
Mine like I said, was the sensor close to the manifold this on ebay Item # 180927754632

Thanks for the quick and helpful answer. Ill try disconnecting the battery first and failing that a mate at work has a diagnostics machine. Failing that its off to the garage!
Is it a big job actually replacing the sensor?
