JIMNY VVT ALTERNATOR was created by blakey2000
Im putting a Ford EL Falcon Alternator in my VVT Jimny alternator is in and belt is on, but with replacing the wires i'm having trouble finding what the cables go.

i cant figure out where the original cable goes to when i went round to check continuity to see where it went i find it goes to about 4 places. goes to the fused battery terminal, which is joined to another cable that goes who knows where, and it also goes to the 2 large cables that come from no where into the fuse box.

so it seems to go from a 10mm cable and a 16mm cable joined at the battery terminal in to 2 10mm cables that must randomly appear in the wiring loom as the alternator is just one 16mm cable i cant figure out where this extra cable has come from.

so I'm wondering if anyone has some better knowledge on a VVT jimny and the cables or whether they have a Wiring manual for the VVT Jimny as the manuals i have for the Jimny are different.

here are some pictures,

the cables on the left are the connection to the battery, and the big white clip is the 2 random cables that multiply in the loom somewhere, as you can see the battery connect and 2 different sizes and the ones in the white clip are the same size they are connected somewhere and to the alternator, where does that cable multiply. also note the 2 cables in the white clip on the right are still connected together somewhere.

this one is the battery terminal connection with the 80A fuse and to where the previous picture the cable on the left connect to.

and here's a pic of the alternator installed.

the main thing for all this is im upgrading the alternator cable. to a larger one. and i need to know what cable i need to cut and cap or remove, and how to connect my new fuse to the battery and keep the cables set up the same as original with the placement of the new fuse IE what ones need to be directly connected to the battery and what ones need to be on the fused side of the battery. i was thinking of just cutting everything and re terminating them all. but id like to know where they all go first. as i have new battery terminals too.

any help would be much appreciated
