I've just pulled out the sidelight bulb and compared the two. The dash bulb does seem to be the same type so I assume it's a 501 type.

no its not a 501 just looks like it but smaller all bulbs have different numbers

just ebay dash bulbs and see what looks right

are thay like this Item number: 290758354971

It's difficult to tell from the picture. Mine is 9mm in diameter and 24mm long including the little bobble at the bottom. Not many sellers give the exact dimensions which makes it a bit difficult to tell. Perhaps I'll have to visit the dreaded Halfords and more for 1 than I would for 10 off Ebay.

iv just taken mine apart and had a look the 3 big bulbs are 501 and the smaller ones are the ones on ebay

I found 504s in Halford which look identical to 501s but are only 3 watts. They seem to be lighting the clocks up well so I'm happy enough.

If I'd realised the clocks were so easy to get out I'd have done this job 6 months ago.
