weird noise was created by mark1971
I've just serviced my jimny and i've now got a strange noise coming from somewhere underneath. When i'm driving along and lift my foot gently off the throttle pedal there is a groaning noise for a few seconds it's also causing a slight vibration in the car. At first i thought it was a wheel bearing starting to give up but that would surely make a continual noise not just as i lift off the gas. I can't work out the location of the sound as it sort of resonates around the car......

Any idea's???

Mark

My bet would be heat shield on the exhaust rattling.
Mine made some horrible noises that were cured with a couple of jubilee clips!

I agree - probably the heat shield on the cat - my 2007 suffered from failed bolts/clips, removed the shield and all is well

I'll have a roll underneath and see if it's that then, but it sounds more like a rotating groaning noise.
