Does anyone know the steel thickness on the axle castings. I have just ordered a weld on support truss from ORA. Just trying to get a handle on things so when I do it I get full penetration.

This is not a fact, but I would guess it's around 3mm like it is on SJ/Samurai axles. But be extremely careful when you weld, because the axle housing will end up looking like a banana if you heat it too much. Make only short welds like 2" long and allow it to cool down well between welds. Good luck!

Well done my rear axle now, just 2 - 3'' welds with plenty of cooling and removed diff oil and both plugs to allow heat to escape, thanks for info Paul, and it was still smoking!
