transfer box issue was created by jimny joe
Hi guys.

Im still new to jimmys but i think I've got a possible problem with the transfer box on mine.
When driving along it will make a high pitch grinding noise, like a dodgy gear shift.
However, if i put it into 4wd and then back to 2wd it won't make the noise.

Well this modrning it wouldn't go into 4wd before i set off for work. Oh crap me thinks! Tried the 4wd again and it worked fine !

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Joe

Reaper, i do this before pulling away. im aware of the issues with driving it on dry tarmac in 4wd. Bits exploding and what not!

If its sticky vac hubs any suggestions on getting them freed up?
Does the 4wd lever go straight into the transfer box? if not a friend of mine suggested it could be a worn linkage?

thanks again.
