Well we are now all working again, Some of you may have seen, or heard, of the
teething issues ive been having.
Basically i have had to have a special prop made up with the Jimny splined shaft
on one end and a SJ yolk on the other also had to loose 5" from the length,
Incidently the prop needs to be 405mm.
Here is my hybrid prop (Bottom) and SJ prop (top)
This is the company who did it and first class job!!!
So when i got it home i decided to crack straight on!!!
The conversion is very straight forward and although mine
is a rockwatt conversion, Martin's guide is still usefull!
Speaking of Martin, thank's for putting up with my incessant
pestering, May be an idea to change your Phone no!!!!
anyhow here are some pic's of the finished Job.....
You can just see my new prop here...
I have been out for a drive and my god its slow
40mph at 3000rpm in 5th !!!!!!!!!! and low box us unbelivable
low 4th is like my old low 1st....Big up Rockwatt its a cracking
peice of kit!!!!!!!!

I have a Rockwatt rockcrawler and I don't find mine slow, if anything the slightly lower ratio in 2WD high makes it nippier getting out of junctions etc.
I'm not sure what revs mine pulls at 40mph in 5th, I wonder if your gearbox and transfer box ratios are different to my earlier car.
Does your whine a bit? Mine does quite alot but I have been told it's the new gears meshing with the old and that it will quieten down and is nothing to worry about. Apparently some whine to start with and others don't.
I have dropped the oil out after a hundred miles or so and replaced it with new but it hasn't made a difference and no swarf came out.
You are right though, low ratio is low low! I can't wait to use mine, just need to be able to have the time off work to use the car!
We're going to Slindon with our club in September. which will be the first time I really get to use it off road. We were to go greenlaning with mates but the chap has gone and broken 3 toes on his right foot!
Well done with your perseverance and on hopefully solving you swivel oil leak!

Kirkynut,
Yeah mine whine's like mad!!!! but i rather like the sound, reminds me of
my old Escort RS200 with the Gartrack gearbox!! i loved that car,
Round the streets i love it as you say its got a bit of zing about it again
I was thinking that maybe my diffs are a slightly different ratio as it really does
rev on the motorway....
Love the rockwatt kit and would reccomend it to anyone....

if its a weekend fun car then its not anything to worry about
Mine is most happy at about 40-50 on road but as I am only going to the offroad site it nice to take my time and enjoy the stares of other motorists and as kirkynut says its ace off road and tough as mine has been in a good few years
When you can next treat yourself get diff locks next
