no you dont i had a 3" lift all i done was unbolt the o/s/f caliper unbolt lower shock mount and the anti roll bar if its fitted remove sprong fit 2" spacer pull axal down refit spring and jack up axal and bolt back together

tried this last weekend and struggled. axle didn't want to come down enough and there was still far too much tension in the spring. i only undid the shock on the side i was doing (drivers) , i have extended brake lines so caliper is ok.
i did buy the jimny modded already so in truth i have no real idea of the lift on it. the front springs do however seem to have a real bow due to the axle tilting. the shocks and springs do look and feel old and tired

this is going to sound stupid but should both sides of the front be raised to do this ?? ( only raised drivers ). do you jack up under the diff to get the whole front up at once ? cheers

jack it up very high on the axle then use axel stands on the chassis and yes id lower both sides
