A person i know has done this swap and every 2 months he changes the rear r&p.

He races in enduro and rally raids.

The best is an M16 engine. Is almost plug and play. From liana non vvt or vvt depends

from the jimny engine you have.

does the M16 or M18 need any modification with the mormal stock gearbox that comes with the M13?

the m16 and m18 are directly bolt on to the m13 gearbox.

Hi,
I just bougth a manual 2010 Suzuki Jimny and my friend offered me a 1991 Ford Ranger 4.0l V6 engine but I´m not sure if it fits. Does anyone know about any powrfull engine swaps besides the M16A, M18A and G13B engies.
Ps. I prefer the V6 engines.

Thanks.
Ragnar

A few people have put Vitara V6s in. They are not that big or powerful though. Check out Holmar on this forum and Rhino Rays. Another chap fitted a BMW 1.8 and Lambert is planning a UZ swap, albeit in 2wd guise.
I'm not familiar with the Ford V6 you speak of but I imagine it is quite a big and heavy lump? Perhaps not best suited to a Jimny. A high performance 4cyl would be my choice.

A M18 has about 20-40nm more thean a M16. I highly doubt that kills rings n pinions, when other people can run turbo kits, superchargers etc.. More likely has to do with driving style, or diff install allignments..
Alot of tuned M18 builds on Auszookers, very few talks about drivetrain issues due to this.
But anything can be killed..

M18`s are hard to find though, and have weaker rods.
Ive run a 07 Swift sport motor with a M18 intake for a few months now, no issues what so ever.

I've always thought that Jimny would go well with one of the ECO-BOOST 1.0 three cylinder turbo engines.

Their light, can be tuned to 150bhp+ I think some can go all the way up to 180 I was reading. And will keep the power to weight ratio similar.
