I'm with ya. There is a considerable amount of the bracket goes through the body mount and welded extensively there. I don't think it will become detached and with the angle, tube and the eye it shouldn't bend. We'll see though :laugh:

Great work, just the idea someone suggested to me.
My only concern would be that the area you've welded to is the crumple zone iirc, it could lead to it pulling in or deforming. A simple solution could be a length of threaded bar between the legs using some plates to spread the load where the nuts will be.
May be over thinking it :dry:

Had crossed my mind about the crumple zone. I've welded beyond the cross member to try and avoid this but does the crumple zone go beyond there?
It's a black jimny anyway so should not really need recovery points...

Not sure how far back the crumple zones go, i do know that it doesn't take much to deform any of that area! Disco 1 Jimny 0
If using a bridle just a piece of angle welded between the legs should be enough i would have thought. I need to find a solution for the front, something high and accessible like yours
