It's the jimny death wobble. It happens at around 43mph???
You need to shim the king pin bearings to eliminate the slight play that they will have in them.
Like I say it's only slight play in the kingpin bearings but the steering wheel can really wobble!
Steve.

Right mate look at the back of the wheel. The Big ball Joint with the rubber seal around it. The surface of the Ball should be totally dry free from any oil grease. If its all greased up then the king pin bearing have gone. change these easy job, have a look in the HOW TOO guide on how to do it. These fair all the time if you off road the Jimny probably the most common fault on them. hope this helps
Thanks
James

I've just bought a Jimny O2 - reg 05 - have the 47mph wheel wobble. Have been directed to this site to purchase king pin shims. Looking at advice on site, am advised to change kp's/ bearings too - but my Jimny has only done 20,000 miles, and no off-roading- is this really necessary? I'm sure they're ok.
Anyone out there got any advice? Cheers

Change them... they aren't expensive. Lack of mileage could well damage the bearings further, as the dust seals may dry out and perish, allowing water in even more easily!
DO NOT change the king pin itself. I did and wasted £150.
