New tyres, New Gears? was created by HiJim
G,day
Just fitted my jimny with a 3" lift. So now i need some new tyres to finish the beast!
I was after 235/75/15 mud tyres. on some 15x7's with neg 13 off set? Can I get your opinions on this setup.
Also will i need to change my gearing if i run this size tyre? the jimnys an Manual.
Thanks for you help in advance.

you need to change the gearing on any jimny in my opinion if you plan to offroad it as the standard transfer box is rubbish
best to swap for rocklobster box gives better gearing on road & amazing gearing offroad in 4L

I run 235/75/15 special tracs on a 4.16 Rocklobster and its geared fine, just poor top end but perfect in 4L.
In the future I plan to fit stronger halfshafts and cv's, 6.5:1 transferbox and 33's but it wont be this year, This is only because I want to lift the diffs and stop the leading arms from grounding in deep ruts.
