Towing Jimny to events was created by Back in Black
Evening All,
Can anyone recommend the type of trailer is needed to transport a Jimny around? My Jimny is no longer my daily ride so will be used for once monthly TV4x4 outings. This means that I will not be keeping him road legal so will need to get him to and from the locations. I dont rearly have the space for a trailer so will be looking at renting at first.
My new daily ride is a Disco v8 (!!!) with LPG (thank goodness) with tow pack (bar and electrics), only ever towed a little trailer with logs in! Any advice gratefully received.

Don't use a Dolly or A-frame they are illegal except for recovery to the next nearest safe place, No matter what e'bay sellers claim.
I have an Ifor Williams LT126 12ft by 6ft6" the jimny sits perfect on it, also fits in my garage
Make sure you have B+E on your licence to enable you to tow, otherwise you are limited to 750kg or 3500kg max train weight, if you passed your test after 1997.
Ohh And a Disco can legally tow 3500kg which is the maximum, This is only if its not broken

As above, tow it properly. You've got a good truck to tow with use a good trailer too.
Mention A - framing on difflock, they love it!
If the maths works out keep hiring one, saves you having to store and maintain it. Depends how many times a year you need it.
Here's a mates SJ after he sold it, the buyer a-framed it full of spares. A strap came loose and rolled the sj and the tow vehicle on the motorway.

How true - fingers crossed it proves as reliable as my Jimny has been!!
It's got several leaks and rust - but all is forgotten when the v8 rumbles, and hopefully keeps going long enough to get Jimny around
