hi all can you help i have got 5.5j sj rims what is the max tyre size that i can put on them i have got 215 80 15 on now can i get 30/31inch on them

Yes, you can put 31/10.5 on them, but I wouldn't go with any wider than that.

are you sure fella any one else done this with these sj rims 5.5j and can you ture them around because thay are tapered for the nuts on the back side of the rim

Many people have fitted 31" on their SJ's using stock wheels. Including me a long time ago, so I know that's possible. So sure it can be done on Jimny's too.
And what comes to turning the wheels, it can be done too, but you should drill new holes for valves, and weld up the old one's.
EDIT: If you turn them, make sure that they fit on the rear drums before drilling and welding, because I'm not sure how much bigger Jimny rear drums are compared to SJ410. Turned wheels can't be installed on SJ413 because of bigger drums, but on SJ410 they will fit nicely.

I wouldn't put anything bigger than 29x9.
