yes i did use it in 4wd on the road, i was testing the hi lo, only at low speed i turned sharp right thats when it happened, im sure it can handle it ocasionly, i think it was on its last knockings, i still have to confirm its a cv gone but it sure sounds like it,

where is the best place to purchase a cv joint?

Best place for CV's is camskill, martin has a link in the shop i think. But even a short drive on road in 4wd can induce windup!

I think you've learnt the hard way about driving in 4wd on the road.

Have you taken it out of 4wd now? It will be stiff otherwise.

taken it out of 4wd soon as it happened, removed the hub& cv this morning, nothing left of it totaly shattered, shaft is ok though, probably fit new cv friday, expensive lesson learned.

Thats part of the job done at least! You'll just need to cut the rest off the shaft but take care not to damage the splines.

Fitted new cv friday now up and driving OK. that wont happen again lol.
