Rattle behind dashboard solved! was created by Chilgrove
Like several others I have had an annoying rattle which I though was coming from behind the dashboard on the passenger side. I could not find anything obvious and started to look further afield as noises can be deceptive.
Down in the passenger footwell on my car, year 2006, there is a plastic cover panel over the speaker. By gently tapping my fingers on the surface I got a rattle type noise so I removed the cover exposing wiring loom near the speaker. I broke the wee plastic clip at the top but it does not seem to matter. I reckon I should have lifted the plastic sill guard first, it seems to unclip easily.
Anyway I carefully bent the wires in the loom away from the plastic cover and lo and behold the noise has stopped.
Couldn't believe it.
