ecu....some help was created by tasos
Hi,
First of all english isn't my mother language so....sorry if i write something $^#^&%^*

My problem.... I have a Jimny 08 diesel....last summer i push the a/c buttom....it turns the green light on but nothing else happen.... i though " it might needs freon...i went to a car electrician...he measured the pressure it was ok....we check a valve (replace it with a new) nothing....
Another problem i found was that the fan doesn't start when the cars temperature was high....
we ckeck the fan from the reles and both scales were working when we activate it manually...
I also change the coolant sensor....
What else should i look??? Can the ecu make all this??

Hi and welcome

I had a similar problem with the a/c on my car. The light came on, same as yours but it wouldn't work. The problem was the switch. Unfortunately you can't buy the switch on its own, it comes as part of the dashboard complete with the 2 heater rotary controls. Eventually I bought and wired a 2nd. hand heated rear window swicth and wired it across the orignal switch.

The complete story is here
www.bigjimny.com/index.php?option=com_ku...7&id=17056&Itemid=75

As you will see the a/c is also controlled by the 4wd position, so if you are in 4wd it won't work.

I can't really help with your problem, but at least I can tell you that a/c system works on it's own, and the ecu has nothing to do with it.:)

That sounds weird. Why would they design it that way?

Well, I don't have a/c, but if I had one, I would wire it to work with 4wd also...

Maybe there's something wrong in that area with tasos's Jimny, and the a/c system somehow thinks that 4wd is engaged, and prevents it from working?

1) From a small research i do, i found that when the a/c turns on the fan starts too. (the ddis have 1 fan only)
2)The main problem is that when the tempurature lift up to 89 degrees....the coolant sensor (which works) send a signal to ecu to start the fan.....thats not happening.
So the coolant system (fan) have a relation with the a/c system somehow
