Thanks Dave
Its the adjusters that I struggled with, how tight the bearings should be. Don't use tipex! It disappears!
Will get the measurements as soon as my old naff diff is out, maybe I can get a feel how much lash is on the crown wheel and diff within the carrier on that, don't fancy the tapered bearings too tight, they are firm atm.

I leave the bearing clamps in one piece -
www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/x-alt-fitting-...-right/blog_125.html
and label them left and right, place them to one side, strip and rebuild the diff, then slip them back exactly as they were, so no need to reset the bearings...
See the pictures in the linked blog above... and more in this one -

Haaaaa, I see where I went wrong, the small bolt on top of the bearing can stay in holding the adjuster in place.
I read all of your blogs so I should have known!.
I will just take the bearing caps off my old diff and try them on without loosing the adjustment. And then see if the play is the same.
Thanks Dave, Get to work on the X90 so I can read your blogs!

Strange how Daves vitara diff has 3 roll pins and the Jimny doesn't to hold the shafts in the diff.

General concensus seems to be that the Vit rear crown wheel is bigger than the Jimny ones, which inevitably descend from the SJ diffs... so no, my LSD won't fit in the Jimny... so will pop it in the X90 then... pictures to follow Gaz
Exactly, leave the adjuster lock plate and bolt in place, and carefully take the two tops off and set aside, then carefully pop them back where they were, job done, no adjustment should be needed...
