It's till it comes out the filler hole.

Is it parked on the level?

Otherwise don't worry about it. If it's up to the filler so it just overspills when the plug is removed, it has enough in it. That's the main thing.

I don't use books as bibles, just as guides. I've often put in more/less coolant or oil in cars than books say and gave up measuring.

I recently changed the radiator in my Micra and had not long renued the coolant, so dropped it and caught every last drop. In theory I would not need to put more or less in but it took more. The level's stayed the same for a month or so now without using any so I'll not worry.

Just make sure it comes out the filler hole and all will be well.
