Yeah it sound like a good little mod.
Am I right in saying that you have used the nut on the rear wheel as the bolt to hold the bracket!!
Really it is so simple and yet so effective well done I just wish I thought of it

hanks mate yes its very simple in fact it took about 5 minutes to make. I hve used the top two bolts on the spare wheel to hold the bracket on.

Might just be worth drilling through a retaining stud and popping a little R clip through as butterfly nuts can shake lose with the vibration, would'nt like you to lose the shovel as snow is forecast this week!

Good point mate I'm going to leave the two nylock nuts on to be honest it only take seconds to get the shovel on and off.

Cracking idea this! Is there any possibility of making it secure to a certain extent? Like securing it with a pad lock or something similar?

i was thinking the same thing ....i have already had the front and rear shackles nicked by some scrote , im sure they would take a shine to an unsecured shovel
