Yeah I think you are definitely right there!! Unless you only put it on when you're actually going to be heading out in the snow and not leaving the car anywhere.

I will have a look how to modify this to make it lockable i recon i will be able to come up with something.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationMaybe something like this with a padlock so quick release.

Those pins would be great if they were welded to a longer shaft in conjunction with a thick washer and a spring then you could mount different things on the back real quick

The spring will stop the pins coming undone

I used them on my old trailer and they were a bugger for jumping out, I ended up putting a padlock through the bottom so they didn't jump open and also security as then the tailgate could not be opened.

I reckon those latches would be worth a try. Like you say, can easily slip a padlock in the bottom part so they wont be going anywhere. I too have also had problems with them jumping out over bumpy surfaces!!
