If you get mud in the bead its normally only on the outside bead, I've not had it on the inside. An easy way to clean it is to use a high lift jack on the side of the tyre, I put the jack under the rock sliders, and break the bead like that. The weight of the car will break the bead and force the tyre down far enough to clean the mud out, and then blow back up again with an airline.
