Cheers both! Glad you're putting those axles to good use Si
my boggers are 36.5" too, havent settled on an axle location as yet. from seing Blakeys build on Devon4x4 forum he's using an ORA Assasin body so maybe doesnt need as much clearance as you Si?

Have you got a link?
My mission for today is finishing welding the front axle A frame (for single link) and fit an LJ70 steering box - which is looking like it might take a bit more metalwork than I'd figured! I'll post piccies later. Just stopped for some lunch!

With using the assasin body clearance is not a real issue just got to move the front axle enough foward so the tyres dont touch the bulkhead, have moved the rear axle back 70mm and using the ORA rear radius arms for the front so should move it far enough foward. I think it the end i may losse a bit of clearance as have got to add winch, 3x batts, fuel, seats and other bits.
I was looking at using the lj steering box instead of moving the standard one foward but am know looking at hydro steer and using the kit from Rob at ORA

My build is here :
Jimny with Toyota 80 Axles
I've not updated it for a while as most of what I've done recently are small fiddly time consuming bits that don't look any different once they're done!
The LJ steering box could have been made to fit on to a Jimny. Granted the bolt holes are in inconvenient places but in the only place it fits, it puts the end of the pitman arm in the ideal location for the axle being 100mm further forward - with 80 series Axles anyway!
Why did you go for 70 series axles instead of 80? They are harder to find and sell for similar money - and don't have lockers as standard. I guess you must have a good reason?

Went for the 70 series as i manged to get both axles and props for £250. The 70's ones are bit narrower and are a bit lighter than the 80 series. The ones i got are from the LJ78 that come with the rear disk brakes as standard. With the lockers i am at present going to go open diffs and fiddles brakes and maybe ARB lockers once i have used it on a few events and seen how it goes.
