High CO reading was created by jjg4
Took my car to see my friendly MOT tester today for a pre-MOT check.

He did the emissions check and found a high CO reading. All the other readings were within spec.

Anyone have any ideas about resolving this - I've seen talk of 'giving it a thrash before the test', 'using injector cleaner' etc but would like to know what has worked? I think a high CO indicates rich running, so my first check will be the air filter etc to make sure its not clogged - oh and the engine management light does not come on.

Any other experience I can learn from? Thanks

If no engine management light is on my money would be on the cat at a guess!
