Recommend a remote central locking/alarm upgrade? was created by Treacle Trackpad
Hi guys and gals
I'm looking to fit a remote central locking kit and wondered what the best one would be. I've done a bit of reading up and there seems to be a lot to choose from but fitting instructions are an area of concern. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with these sort of kits? What should I look for or steer away from?
Cheers

Anyone know if I should have remote locking? Year is 2006 and I only have the one key but not with a zapper. This key operates the central locking from the driver's doorlock.

I fitted a 2 way (so its calls you if its triggered) alarm system with remote central locking and added Microwave sensor (mines a soft top) and auto window shutting module to close the electric windows when you lock the car. The instructions were fine and it all worked as it should but it does a quite a drain to the battery. Ok if its your daily.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI fitted one of these to my jimny and my brothers landy, been in about a year and no problems so far considering the price of them.
The fitting instructions are just a basic wiring diagram but easy enough to follow, no alarm with this though, just a panic alarm if you hook up a siren.
Because the jimny already has central locking you just need to get 2 wires into the drivers door or find the wires in the drivers foot well, when the drivers door locks it will lock the rest of them.
