I know what you mean, ive had 7 different offroaders before the jimny ranging from suzuki sj 410 right up to a tray back defender and a V8 disco, but they have nothing on the way the little jimny performs, i wish id bought mine earlier and spend all that money on just the one !!!, power wise im still trying to work out a way to get my 4g63 in it after my 6 turns to dust

I just took the 7 off the road to sort out my 'dust' problems. It's quite shocking for a 10 year old car. When the inevitable day arrives, it'll be donated to a mk2 escort shell!

I think anything that has been neglected (or imports that aren't under-sealed) , and used all year round on Britain's roads has potential to be a pile of dust.

IMHO, you don't need a bigger engine for road use, what you need is a better Transfer Case when yyour in Low Range ...

I have a 6:1 and that takes me anywhere i need to go... If i was rich, single and didnt have a mad job that makes me work 15hrs a day and load of travel - I'd be considering a 8:1 Low box with Toyota Axles, and maybe a 1600cc lump or similar - heck i even seen a LR V8 in a Jimny - it was a beast! ... butr then it would be a Jimny?

Jalapeño, IISY?
