It would depend on the cost of a supercharger in the end? Installation, tuning, extra components and even at safer psi will cause a little extra wear on the engine.
Only guessing here but you would probably only get 50% increase, also depending on how many components you replace, injectors, ecu etc.
If an engine swap costs less, whether it is a 1.6 or 1.8, are pretty much a straight swap, will give you 50% extra torque and 25%-50% increased power respectively, are unmodified so should last longer with the potential to increase power further, I cant see supercharging making any sense
The 1.6 is out of the some Grand Vitara and Swift models.
The 1.8 is from the Liana here in Aus. Not sure if its available anywhere else.
There should be a thread on here somewhere on the 1.6 conversion. There might be a member or 2 that has done it as well, so I would suggest you speak to them and find out exactly what would be needed.

The Jimny is the best car we ever bought, I've had ~30 cars in 15 years. It just needs a bit more grunt. I'm surprised no one has developed software to tweak the OEM ECU. I wonder if it's the same ECU as others in the range.
