Diff locker or Winch? Which one first

Definately winch, no question, hands down. I didn't even ask myself the question. To me it is just the way it is.

I have no intention of going to lockers and find the Jimny so good that it is rare I think I need them. I do drive soem extreme stuff too.

I do avoid the quagmuire type mud though as I like to spend more time driving than maintaining my truck. I maintain it to the highest standard - but I prefer being in it to under it!

Hey kirkynut, do you have a link to any pictures of your Jimny? What rims are you running?

Cheers

I think Kirkynut has it tied down B) I mean if I was to drive around the world firstly It would be a jmny and I would not have lockers as lockers mean maintenance
In my experience suzuki Knows best B) And open diffs = reliability. :)
I would like to copy the ibex with the winch at the back.
The the winch rope would exit out the back around a snatch block and back through the fairlead into a seamless tube which runs from the back bumper to the front bumper. :)
Now you can winch forward and back with only one winch B)

Cheers mate!

You are talking about Vector winch set ups. Other good examples of this are on Rockwatt's SJ (see this months TOR) and Rob Butler's Jimny Trayback (see ORA website and TOR build articles).

I have seen both of these in the metal and both are fine pieces of engineering. Rockwatt's SJ (hope you don't mind being called that all the time Richard but that's how most people know you!) is called Zero and is infamous. Have a search for it on Difflock.
