Ticking ECU was created by keelhamrob
Hi there, I am completely new to this type of enquiry method so excuse any errors.
My wife's 2002 automatic jimny has developed a problem and I wonder whether anyone could help?
There is a ticking coming from the ECU boxes behind the glove box, it stops when the car starts moving or when the gear lever is put in 'L'. The power is down but it does get up to speed in the end, I have just driven 200m back from Scotland a bit slowe rthan usual but made it OK.
The problem seemed to come on after towing a boat off a beach in 4WD low.
The overdrive switch puts the light on the dash on and off but I don't think the overdrive is coming on because 60mph is now 4500revs rather than a bit over 3000.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
cheers, Rob.
