4WD light not working was created by Az1987
Hi all was using the jimny at a festival in guildford the weekend went to put it in 4WD and found the light did not come on and the front hubs did not click in at all check the fuses and all ok my next job was to check the feeds to and from the control unit but could not find wear it was in the workshop manual as the one I downloaded did not have it in. the most annoying thing is I and all the Suzuki manuals on my old laptop befor it died as u working in a main dealer for 3 years. But I never had to change one or even look at one before. So anyone no where it is??

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

It is under the dash on the right hand side.
Most likely you have a vacuum leak from a damaged pipe.
If you look under the bonnet, below the brake reservoir there are two pipes the upper one, with white blobs on the rubber locks the hubs. attach a large syringe or something to this pipe and suck. If the hubs work look at the solenoids, manifold connection and air tank.
Most likely you won't raise a vacuum in the pipe.

Thanks, vacuum leak was first thought but I have no light at all not even when igniton is first put on which makes me beleave it's a electrical problem

I don't think there is a bulb test on the 4wd light, never noticed really.
Jap electrics rarely go wrong* unless they get wet, I'd still check for a split pipe first.
*Apart from the crank position and oxygen sensors. :whistle:
