Timming belt/chain? was created by BIG BILL
I have a 2003 / 53 jlx 1300 petrol.
Has it a timming belt or chain?
It has 63000 miles
I have sent the V5 doc to Swansea so where can i find the engine model number if I need to identify which one it is?

Thanks for any help or advice

If it's a soft top it will have timing belt.
If it's a hard top it will have a timing chain.

Also, just read the VIN Number from the top of the dashboard, through the Windscreen.

JA33 or JB33 = G13BB Engine = Timing Belt
JB43 = M13AA Engine = Timing Chain

Thanks for that, mines a timing chain.
I take it, I could be wrong they don't need changed?

I'm also wanting to upgrade my tyres and wheels for light off road, what is the biggest tyre wheel package without a lift or bumper mod.

I think I already have the Bug:)

Thanks again BIG BILL
