Cam sensor issues?? was created by DVs-Jimny
At sustained speeds of 55 - 60MPH I seem to get a little hiccup now and again. It's as if I've gone and lifted off the throttle hard and then put my foot back down.

1999 Jimny SOHC

I'm thinking cam sensor going wobbly (no CEL on), no other apparent symptoms.

What do you guys think?

Thank you :)

I have the same symptoms on my 02 jimny. If I run at light load say up to 50mph it will run all day. If I make it work harder 60mph after a couple of miles it will cut out but may not stop running. The tacho needle flicks to zero and the engine warning light flickers. Leave it a couple of minutes and we are off again as if nothing was wrong.
I changed the front O2 sensor without success and also got hold of a second hand cam sensor which also made no difference.
May have to try a new cam sensor though.
Somehow this seems to be temperature related but would appreciate some views on this.
So DVs Jimny seem like the same issue to me. Sorry I cant help.
