changed engine now it wont run

we have fitted a replacement engine in my bro's jimny today but it won't start even though everything has been connected up the way it should be

when we first turned ignition on the lights on the dash came on for a split second then went off found it blew a fuse so replaced that so now got ignition lights & engine turns but not atempting to fire up

anyone got any idea's what it could be

its a sohc engine & we just taken it out of another jimny that was running perfectly fine

Immobiliser?

i thought about imobiliser as the old engine was removed about 2 months ago & its been sat there with the battery disconected all that time so maybe its lost its code but i thought that the check engine light flashed when the ignition is switched on if its the imobiliser but i could be wrong

its not the imobiliser i changed the ecu , imob unit & ignition today & it still the same

i had the same with mine ... turned out to be dud/duff/rusty Coil packs.
