RockLobster Front Prop

Hi

Today fitted my rocklobster I got from rockwatt as many of you around.
I got the box, and 2 shafts from him witch seems ok according to the manual from here.

The only thing is the front prop, same as original (Jimny one) seems to be quite a tight fit, there is only a 2mm gap or so .... is this the way it should be? it seems that if I go over a bump it will put some back pressure in the transfer case or maybe not? can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks ;)

Jimny is lifted 3" anyway ... :)

I had the same issue, its all about suspension, been told that you have to run a min of 3in lift, and some 3in kits are Not 3in, more like 2.5in. Or if its old And sagging.
So you can fit spring spacers, dosent make a great difference.
Or chop a bit of the prop or i've heard that a 4.10 prop is shorter-dont know if this is true.
I just chopped abit off mine as i had a spare if it was too much.
Mike.

Mike

I have 3" lift and almost new ... it's from KAP and from what I remember measuring it was more then 3 when fitted and 3 after a few weeks of settling ... B)

The front prop will fit, but it will be almost fully compressed... :S Due to the angular movement from the radios arms is it doing to move that far back that I need to shorten the prop? if so by how much?

thanks guys

Personally, I'd shorten it to get the sliding end in the centre of the splines when the car is standing level.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I was talking to Rockwatt today and he said that's ok to be like that and there will still be some movement which is enough.
Anyone else with a SJ413 box in the jimny can say what they have done...
Thanks ;)
