If they really are that poorly made/designed Suzuki ought to make the price a shade more realistic.

Landrover ones last donkeys years and are a lot cheaper.

Erm...

That is the built in obsolescence that most manufactures claim isn't there...

I have no experience with LR, but I think early Land Rovers were built to undertake a function - not so sure about the latest offerings...? Suzukis are really good, but some of the design (and pricing) doesn't seem to me, to have longevity (and value for money) as a prime concern.

If you want a parallel that's easy to grasp, just work out the cost of ink jet printer ink per gallon, and thenhave a sit down in a dark room :S

Source Wiki - converted from dollars to sterling. "The ink is often very expensive. (For a typical OEM cartridge priced at £15, containing 5 mL of ink, the ink effectively costs £3000 per liter, or £8000 per gallon.) According to the BBC (2003), "The cost of ink has been the subject of an Office of Fair Trading investigation. Which? magazine has accused manufacturers of a lack of transparency about the price of ink and called for an industry standard for measuring ink cartridge performance"."[11]

Printer Ink and swivel joint seals are worlds apart. But the desire for massive corporate profit is everywhere.

Went for retest, but I hadn't noticed that there was STILL play vertically at the tyre. There is no play at the king pins but there is movement at the centre of the housing.... bearings...?

It may be that the huge amount of play from the king pins was masking play at the wheel bearing?

Respect to Maverick, who may have been trying to tell me this!!! I just wasn't listening. Head down - get the job done...

So, need to sort the wheel bearing, and so I need the special tool for the hub nut. A borrow would be nice (Rochdale Lancs) or if needs be, does Martin have one in stock please?

I haven't had a look at it since I brought it home, and I am assuming its the wheel bearing... I'm not sure what else it could be.

Will strip down tonight.

Hey Ho.

Nothing is ever straight forward is it. :silly:

Try rocking the wheel with an assistant pressing the brakes, if the wobble goes then its the wheel bearing

Tools are in stock, back online by Monday once I have had enough of sun, sand, girls in bikini's, beer etc.
