The SET is £23 or £23.50 (depends on the brand I have) and includes the TWO bearings and the old seal.

THe advice on refitting the Kingpins themselves is that the wear differently.

The other threads advice on shimming is misleading.

Jimnys do not normally need shimming. The older SJs did. There is no normal shim set for the Jimny. I do a bearing shim set to help reduce wobble and these are the same shims that Suzuki supply to people with a persistent wobble on Jimny O2 Alloys.

i've always found that when fitting new kingpin bearings and rings, when you tighten the kingpin bolts top and bottom the load is too much on the bearings

A new one costs as much as a small flat in Central London.

As i discovered the swivel hub seal should be replaced annually. If thats the part you are referring to, iirc they aid steering damping too. I paid about £23-26 a side off ebay from a suzuki dealer.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

Thanks to all, and to Martin. Good holiday I hope!

Local bearing supplier took delivery of my bearings, but their supplier sent the wrong ones. :S So apologies accepted and it will now be tomorrow.

Can't tell you how helpful this site is, and has been. :)

Big thanks to Martin and the others.

Regards

Peter

Where did you discover that?
If they really are that poorly made/designed Suzuki ought to make the price a shade more realistic.

Landrover ones last donkeys years and are a lot cheaper.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
