HI, I thought the air flow meter on jimnys is part of the throttle body assembly.... hot wire chamber inside.
Maybe not as facade said its got a MAP sensor......
Can be cleaned if it has but use caution...
Sounds like CSPS to me as well...
Good luck,
Ginger

Hi Guys had a look around the back of the engine today can`t seem to find the crank sensor so not sure if there is one, there is a sensor on the top rear which i presume is the cam sensor, had a word with a mechanic yesterday & he said my problem could be the fast idle controller but could not do a diagnostic because the engine management light is not working this would also be consistant the high fuel consumption, taking it back on tuesday if management light is just the bulb missing, so if anyone can point me in the right direction for the cam sensor that would be great

I used the link above to change mine - but mines an 52 plate - didnt take too long to both the crank and the cam sensors in one hit, a little over an hour

Just a quick update not sorted yet, but have found out from local suzuki dealers that my chassis no says i do not have the crank sensor, have now got the engine management light working (thanks previous owner for taking it out & not answering your phone), anyway booked in for monday to have diagnostic the technician thinks it could be the fast idle controller, i can tell you are all waiting with bated breath to find out the outcome, the suspense will go on until monday along with the flashing check engine light, also new tyres & suspension ordered will post some pics soon

Well has`nt this one dragged on for a while, finally sorted this problem, the garage could not get their diagnostic to talk to my ecu, so no charge there, followed the instructions to get codes in the suzuki workshop manual, according to the code it was the throttle position sensor, finding one for my year was like finding rocking horse stuff, suzuki price £160.00, managed to get one from america for £60. fitted yesterday and all is good, thanks to everyone on here that tried to help, keep up the good work, knowledge is power
