Tyres was created by russellgoodman
Hi everyone,
I have just got a Jimny. I used to have an LJ80 and then a SJ413 years ago.
I am looking to change the tyres for something suitable for laning.
I have read a few threads about tyre sizes, but am still unsure. I wanted to clarify before I buy the tyres.
The car will be on the road all week with off road either lanes or p&p some weekends. I will at some point lift the suspension but not yet. I was thinking of getting insa turbo sahara 215/75/r15 on standard alloy wheels or special tracks which I think are a little smaller (can't remember off hand). I want to change the wheels too but again they may have to wait.
Does anyone know if they will fit without any alterations to the arches and bumpers.
Thanks. Russell.

My jimny with 205/75/15 m/t +1.5" spring spacers.
BIGGAZ has 215/75/15 B.F.G. M/T on his jimny before he had a 3 inch lift and he said it OK with no rubbing on the arches or bumpers.

Thanks for that.
I am tempted to go for the sahara as I think that the special track may be hard going on the road.
I read somewhere though that the sahara was a bit higher than some tyres. I thought that the profile height would be the same regardless of the manufacturer.
You Jimny looks good. The spacers have done the job, they make the difference to the height.

Thanks that was helpful.
I'm not sure about the fact that they are remoulds.
Maybe the Maxxis or Kumo's may be a better choice.
How do you find the sping spacers? Are the shocks still standard and did you have to extend the brake hoses?
Sorry about all of the questions...

HI RUSSELL.
1)Sping spacers are a good cheap way of getting a1.5" lift.
2)Shock are standerd with rear shock brackets but will work with out them.
3)No need for extend brake hoses.
maxxis are a good tyre for the money.
And its ok about the questions.
We are here to help.
