jimny leather softtop was created by prosnooker147
well ive just spent the last 45 mins dropping the softtop on my jimny!!!!!! help what plonker designed
it . its the pram type with zip out side windows , zips were a bit stiff not been apart for a while i would guess
anyway took out side windows first ,then back window , then unclipped it from inside released two roof
toggles, folded back great. took about 5 mins not bad for first go.
then the fun started pulled up pram section refixed clips on roof tried to put in first window couldnt
join the zip together on side windows ,would imagine its better on a hot day but suspect the leather
has stiffened up with age ,
can i buy a new cover without zips that just folds ?
any advice were im going wrong please
if i cannot solve this i may have to revert back to my mx5 and my springer spanials not to keen
not much leg room ha-ha

Hi Prosnooker147
1) You fold the side on to the roof and fold it down like your old soft top.
2) You will need to ring monsoon on the colour of the top.
3) It takes about 4 weeks for a one off top to be made.
Hope this helps you. www.monsoon4x4.co.uk/images/Fitting%20In...ng%20Instruction.pdf
Fitted my soft top in about 3 hours+3 cups of tea.

You will likely find that a smear of silicone or vaseline on the zips, coupled with warmer weather will sort out your own top. The plastic is not very flexible in low temperatures.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I have found silicon spray used very liberally works well, they clog up with road dust. The main issue i have is that the zip on the rear window is slowy coming away from the material.
