Jimny service help

I saw magnettic plugs on fleabay, did contemplate one with it being such a high miler.... also might do a compression test sometime soon ( lazier than taking the head off to check rings etc )

My manual states that diffs are every 2 years/18k miles as far as i can interpret the table. I would half if not quarter that if you are spending time in the mud and water without raised breathers as the oil gets contaminated.

Transfer box is 2 years too or 18k miles.

Just looked up the oil too, i wasn't doubting martins info but i had it in my head it was 10/40 but it is 10/30.

Having a thumb through the book of lies i noticed that the swivel hub seals should be replaced annually too! I've still not got round to doing mine so i presume theyre at least 3-4 years old. Another job for the list:(

It would be nice with some pics or experience on the timingbelt and pulley change. I'm also planning this pretty soon. Anything special to pay additional attention to?

we just done the timing belt & tensioner change on my brothers jimny today neither of us have ever done a timing belt before on anything & it is just so simple to do

Make sure you align the timing marks before you remove the belt.
When the new belt is fitted rotate the engine two full turns, slacken the tensioner bolts and re-tighten, then check that the marks match up.

I will take photos..... however it wont be this month, probly the start of next

As said, nothing beats personal experiences!

I found a quick blast with the blow torch loosened up the diff filler plugs nicely! (they wouldn't budge without it).
