Finally got one tho, went out the day the local ads paper went on sale, phoned first thing - bloke had already had numerous calls so I said id take it without even looking at it!
£1350 99 plate, 120k, years mot and 6 months tax.
The bloke laffed when I didnt even know the colour/milage etc but held onto it for me.... 3 hour drive later and she was mine :D
While we were picking it up he litteraly had 10+ calls about it!

I was the same, 01auto 120k for £1350. I bit his hand off, plus he held it for two months for me while i sold my jeep.

Maybe I should have used a title that reflects the problem a bit better ;) Lack of Jimnys for sale in Scotland would be closer to the mark !

Bert and Mckay; Glad it's not just me that found a shortage of them up here. I'm not as far north as you guys ( Perth ) but there's none round here. Zip. When a branch manager of one of the biggest garage chains in Scotland tells you he can't get a 4x4 of any sort to have on the forecourt never mind a Jimny ( which isn't even listed on their website as a search option now ) it kinda says it all. Even the zook dealer hasn't got any  Would seem we're going 4x4 daft up here

The nearest ones on autotrader to here now are a 53 auto with 87k, 137 miles away and 146 miles away; 06 vvt glx with 44k. For 6200. Can't blame the trade for bumping the price up when there's more demand, but some of them are having a laugh. Maybe I'm missing a trick: 06 vvt GLX, 29K. £6900. Any takers ? ;) Not really !

Part of the problem is my buddy's looking to replace his Vectra and it'll be his daily driver so something with really high mileage and / or a bit older might not be a good bet. How reliable are Jimnys at higher miles, say 70k plus, kingpins aside or when they get a few years on ? He's kinda realised gonna have to travel a fair bit to get what he's after or compromise a bit. Thanks for the heads up on the Carlisle dealer Mike, it's been passed on !
