Thanks for the heads up on the Carlisle dealer Mike, it's been passed on !

I work close by there so if anything looks interesting I could have a quick peep before you travel long distances on icy roads.

Parks in East Kilbride have got 4 in. They are 06 to 08 reg from 6K.
Dont know how that sounds but there is a premium on them at the moment.
I got mine last week, 02 with 75K, the book price is about 2500, i paid 2750, but it means I get to work and I have always wanted one!

Aye they're like hen's teeth up here.

I went down to Preston last week & got a 01 Y plate for £2k, which was a bit overpriced - but I really needed a 4x4 to get up my farmer's track in the snow, we had 2 - 2 1/2 feet of snow.

It's had a timing belt & new clutch quite recent & has a new CD player & decent Duleler tyres, also a long mot & tax till May on around 80k miles. Seems to have been well looked after & I'm quite happy really.

The missus missed a full week of work cos we couldn't get out, so it'll help pay some of it's cost back with her (& me) being able to get to work in Jimny.

The guy actually held onto it for me for a day or so, till I got down. He could've sold it really quite easily & said there was quite a few Scottish people on the phone about it. Mad!

Thanks for all the leads folks :) The weather going all Day after Tomorrow again scuppered us heading south this w.end, probably just as well as the mother in law broke her ankle. Jimny to the rescue again thanks to 2 foot of snow up her way :S

After a bit of a chinwag and a major stroke of luck my mate's waiting till after new year now. Apparently one coming into a local(ish) dealer late January against a grand vit :) Here's hoping they don't change their mind as he's got first refusal, pretty sure a 56 with 32k should be OK but nobodys talked £ yet

At least on a positive note looking at the prices now, mine owes me nothing. It's actually the first car I've had that hasn't depreciated stupid £. Fair enough it probably won't stay that way but happy days for the minute !
