Need an idea or two for next year's show circuit.  I'm hoping to have a better year than last summer and actually have chance to be on display at some shows. As part of that I'm wanting to be able to leave the boot open and display the picnic hamper and tool kits as little jewel boxes to add interest. Now obviously at our events it's a given that everyone is honest and respectful and I can just leave it open however I have trust issues when it's an open event and the general public are in attendance. I'd like to be able to look around the show myself and still have the 10mm in its cutout and my sandwich and coffee be safe to eat. I had thought to put a flat sheet of polycarbonate just inside the door opening, it would be secure but it's also a faff to get anything from behind it and it's not entirely subtle or friendly or approachable? A fine laser mesh  is probably overkill but also effective after the first hand tries it. I have also thought about a half height screen with a curved top 45 degree return about a foot into the car like a security fence top but in clear polycarbonate,  it's not as secure and things could be thrown in the back but it's also less on the nose from a don't touch point of view? The other alternative was some of that red and white plastic chain with a danger high voltage/danger of death/some other explicit and graphic way of being hurt sign swinging off it, but while I might think it's funny other people probably won't and it won't physically stop someone even mildly determined from interfering with my stuff?

I'm not really sure of a right answer for this one. I certainly wouldn't leave any expensive tools out on display. I would perhaps make a "fake" cheap set for display purposes with the tools permanently stuck in a case which could be locked to the car? I guess you're looking to do something like in the pics below? For the picnic hamper style thing I would perhaps have two? Your real one is hidden away whilst the other one is a cheap display set? We do this at boat shows to decorate the boats.

Yeah I had wondered about something too bulky to just walk off with, in a heafty case but it's another faff?

This would mostly be a mobile thing that could go in whichever vehicle was most appropriate for the particular car which if I went for a replacement door type would mean one per car?

There's nothing really irreplaceable going on display like a veteran set of wire cutters or expensive like Stahlwille or nepros it's more a custom jewel box that makes tools look interesting, individually lined velvet compartments type of thing once I've built it.
