Wow, that was quick. was created by Roger Fairclough
I was driving through Studley , speed approx. 15 mph. Traffic parked both sides of the street. A driver opened his door and got out. Warning siren sounded, dash flashed orange and the brakes were applied until Tonka stopped. Fortunately there wasn't any following traffic Now the siren and the orange light have happened before but never the brakes on to a stop. Very disconcerting. Anybody else have this happen?

Only the warning light and buzzer. Never had it apply the breaks yet and not brave/daft enough to test it on purpose.

Yep has happened on all of my Gen 4s at some point. Not quite in that situation as you described but in more General driving where the car can't sense the pavement or curve in the road so thinks your about to plough straight into someone on the pavement. Also I've had the brakes kick in when I've gone round a turn too fast even though I felt it was ok. Sometimes you can just get the beep warning on its own and other times the brakes kick in. It doesn't seem to be something you can force it to do. What is slightly weird is whenever I've been in a situation when I've felt I've had a close call the car usually doesn't respond at all! I don't like the system and feel that it could actually get someone into an accident. Many of times I've been happily driving along on my way to work when suddenly the car panics and brakes waking you up and fighting the steering wheel to gain control. My worry is one day it will try braking on a surface it can't predict like Ice and send me into a world of problems.

I've turned the departure warning off but evidently the collision needs doing every ignition cycle which is a pain on a daily. It has only ever braked on me once which took it from irritating to disconcerting very quickly. Not a fan.

I have never had the brakes applied, but have had the warning siren on a couple of occasions.
Unlike some mine doesn’t seem to false trigger, but it does seem to be a bit sensitive, it has gone off once when I was already slowing down.
