Yes, this sort of arrangement is what I had in mind. 
Why on earth Suzuki didn't to this themselves is beyond me.

I'm assuming the gen4 is still exactly the same?

The illustration is from the Suzuki Gen.4 workshop manual. From memory this appears to duplicate the SJ models and any differences would probably be minor and not a problem.
