It seems that the air con on my SZ5 isn’t really working, it might just need a re gas, as it is a little cooler with it on. I have found out it uses R1234YF gas, which is of course more expensive.
Is it practical to buy a DIY kit to re gas or is this just a waste of time as there might be another problem?

Just seen a 2018 (very first batch in the country) SZ5 having the aircon fixed under warranty in a dealer. Split identified, gas all leaked.

My suggestion would be to get it checked by a competent tech - DIY stuff you can do before hand would be to clean/degrease the condenser, and make sure the cabin filter is clean.
I've topped up many an a/c system over the years and the newer systems don't have the sight glass that the older ones did, so the only way to know if low refrigerant is the problem is with a set of gauges,

Thanks guys.
I am taking it to an air con specialist tomorrow for him to check out.
Martin, any idea if air con is covered by the Service Activated Warranty? I kind of assumed not as I don’t think air con is checked on a regular service (on any car).

Yes, that's why I mentioned that it was a first batch 2018 model, these are out of normal warranty, but being covered by the new extended warranty. It was not a "normal" loss of gas , it was a component failure

Thanks Martin.
I had a good look through the warranty details, a normal re gas isn’t covered, it’s wear and tear, but if there is a component failure then that should be covered.
The local air con man is checking it tomorrow, so if it isn’t a simple re gas and he finds something then I will try the Suzuki garage for a warranty repair.
