Why don't Suzuki offer factory soft and hardtop models?

This question has probably been asked ad nauseum, but I specifically joined to try to find out the reason(s).
I live in Japan and own a Jeep Wrangler because I love the outdoors and want to be as close to nature as possibe.
I believe many (most?) Jimny owners feel the same way. So what gives? I know they used to offer an open top model many years ago, but I'm struggling to understand why a vehicle specifically designed in the form factor of a Jeep doesn't include arguably the most important feature of them.

When the new one came out in 18 I had kinda thought that they might have reintroduced the soft top a few months later but it just never happened, that could have something to do with them not being able to make the tin tops fast enough to meet demand or they might have made a decision based on the demand for the gen3 soft top which ceased production around 2005/6 and felt there wasn't a market. I dunno but it is a bit of a shame.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Yeah. I live in the countryside where they're most prevalent, and people get them for the same reasons as Jeeps, e.g. off-roading, fishing, camping, etc., so it's really a mystery why they don't at least offer it as an option, especially when if it's strictly due to economics, there are myriad other cheaper vehicles available.

My guess is that it is a weight, cost and safety problem. With added safety features to make an open top car as safe as the one with a roof there must be a lot of reinforcements and solutions to a whole new set of problems to get the car thru the euro ncap tests with good scores. This would add weight and cost in addition to the added cost for the roof and fixtures, and would most likely make a more expensive car than they think the customer would like to buy.

And in most cases they would only attract more buyers from those that allready buy the roofed cars and not add more buyers in total.

That might be true for Europe, but I can't imagine they sell near as many there as they do at home. And if Jeeps can meet the standards, it shouldn't be any more difficult for Jimnys to.

I would have liked a new shape Jimny in soft top form to match my SJ but I also realise that the Hardtop is the preferred option in the UK given our climate and that probably is the same for other countries aswell which is maybe why they only decided to do hard tops only in the newer models.
